After releasing ‘reb fountain’ from the confines of my home last year, I never imagined I’d be back here, reaching out to you from isolation. Yet here we are, here I am. I wrote foxbright in our last lockdown and sharing it with you feels especially prescient right now.
The burrow is the place we run to when in headlights, when faced with the impossible in ourselves and in the world. The mosque lamp is where I leave my love for you should I be hiding. Foxbright is who we are in the face of it all. Of all the songs off of IRIS Foxbright tells the story I most want to share with you right now. Fittingly Lola and I made the music video for Foxbright in my burrow – my home – and with the help of a 16mm projector mapped the world on my body.
